Anna-Lou Leibovitz was born in Waterbury Connecticut in 1949, October 2nd. She’s a famous American portrait photographer who is best noted by her close collaboration of the photographer and the subject.

She began her artistic interest in high school, were she took part in various artistic endeavors, playing and writing music. She studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute and became interested in photography as an art after see took various pictures when she lived in the Philippines during the years her father was stationed during the Vietnam War.

Rolling Stone magazine started her career off when she worked as a staff photographer in 1970. In 1973 she was lucky enough to be named chief photographer for The Rolling Stones, and through the 10 years she worked for the respected magazine she created intimate photographs of celebrities which helped them and the Rolling Stones look. 

Some of the many celebrities she helped influence and create included, John Lennon, whom she shot on the day of his death, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, David Cassidy, Dolly Parton, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Keira Knightly, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Ford, Queen Elizabeth, Sting, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, Miley Cyrus and Michael Jackson.
