Worldwide famous photographer Leibovitz, worked as the chief photographer for The Rolling Stones Magazines for a decade, producing some memorable art. On December 8 1980, Leibovitz took the last photo shoot with John Lennon, with a promise to make the cover. Initially the photo shoot was to be of Lennon alone, but Lennon requested for both him and Yoko Ono to be on the cover of the magazine. The photo shoot was inspired by the kissing scene from the Double Fantasy album cover, which was one of her favorite pictures. John had his clothes removed and went into a curl position up next to Yoko whom had her clothes still on. Lennon described the photo as capturing him and Yoko’s relationship exactly; asking Leibovitz to promise it’ll be on the cover. Leibovitz claiming they looked each other in the eye and shook on it. Five hours later Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman, a sudden death that shocked many.
